We were brought into this project at a very early stage, enabling us to support our clients throughout the entire renovation journey, from initial property purchase through to completion. Situated in the heart of Hackney, this five-storey Victorian townhouse offered enormous potential but had suffered from several years of neglect and required a comprehensive refurbishment and complete reimagining of the interior.

Working closely with our clients from the outset allowed us to help shape the long-term vision for the property and ensure every design decision supported the way the family wanted to live. As a family of five with two teenage children and a four-year-old, creating a home that could respond to the differing needs of each family member was central to the brief. The design needed to balance practicality and durability with a sense of calm, comfort and sophistication.

Our role encompassed interior architecture, spatial planning, detailed design and project coordination throughout the renovation. Careful consideration was given to the layout and functionality of every floor, ensuring the house could accommodate family life while feeling cohesive and connected throughout. Bespoke storage solutions were integrated into the architecture of each room, helping to maintain a sense of order and allowing spaces to remain flexible and uncluttered.

A rich palette of deep blues and greens was introduced throughout the home, creating a strong visual identity and a sense of continuity between spaces. Layered textures, carefully selected materials and bespoke joinery add warmth and depth, while preserving the character and proportions of the original townhouse.

The result is a thoughtfully renovated family home that combines practicality with personality. Through careful planning and considered interior architecture, the property has been transformed into a calm and highly functional environment that supports the demands of modern family living while retaining the charm and character of its Hackney setting.
