Nestled just minutes from the historic Kensington Palace, this elegant four-storey townhouse underwent a comprehensive transformation, carefully balancing contemporary family living with the character and grandeur of its prestigious setting. Situated within a conservation area, the project required a sensitive architectural approach that respected the property's historic context while creating a home tailored to modern life. Lomax & Chi oversaw the architectural design and planning consent, contractor project management and full interior design, delivering a cohesive vision from concept through to completion.

Our team led the architectural redesign of the property, focusing on enhancing the existing structure while introducing contemporary interventions that complement the elegance of the surrounding neighbourhood. The layout was meticulously reconfigured to optimise space, improve circulation and maximise natural light throughout the home. The scope of works included a two-storey rear extension, the creation of expansive open-plan living spaces and a complete redesign of the principal rooms, resulting in a home that feels both generous and connected.

Throughout the project, careful consideration was given to proportion, materiality and detail. Bespoke joinery, carefully integrated lighting and a layered palette of natural materials and finishes create a sense of continuity throughout the house.
